Player Pathway
Long Term Player Development Pathway
The Player Pathway is an essential document which outlines the future pathway of Leicestershire Cricket.
By adopting a multi agency approach and working with key partners we can ensure the best cricket practice is available to all boys and girls between the ages of 10 and 19. This seamless pathway will take talented athletes/ players from the Club environment, to District, County Age Groups, Emerging Players and Academy to first class cricket.
Player Pathway ‘From Playground to Test Arena’
The Player Pathway will incorporate all players of ability to enlarge the foundations of cricket within Leicestershire; strengthening school sports partnership and club cricket to ensure a continued flow of talent into grass roots cricket. Player Pathway is apart of the Long Term Strategic Development Plan for Leicestershire which will develop all aspects of the game and ensure ongoing development within the future.
The player pathway document is based upon objective and relevant data highlighting ‘where we are now’ and ‘where we would like to be’ and ‘how we are going to get there’. The Player Pathway priorities and action plans are based upon the ‘Minimum Quality Standards’ outlined by the England and Wales Cricket Board, and will act as a major planning and implementation tool. Overall the player pathway will be an ongoing process and will be reviewed and monitored on a regular basis by all partners and contributions will be invited in updating and enhancing the pathway each year.
