Coach Education

UKCC 1 (ECB Coaching Assistant) is the first step towards a coaching qualification, for those with little or no experience of teaching or sports coaching. Places are available to candidates who are within 6 months of their 16th birthday or over (on the first day of the course.)

UKCC 2 (ECB Coach Award) Courses 2007/08
UKCC 2 (ECB Coach Award) is for those already experienced in teaching or sports coaching. Places are available to candidates who must be aged 18 or over on the first day of the course.

CDW 5 - Working with fielders and keepers

Working in Schools & Cricket for Teachers:
1. Approved Centre to complete and return relevant registration form with appropriate payment to the Community Coach Education office at Edgbaston within 4 weeks of course commencement.
Please note that registration forms will not be processed without the appropriate payment amount being attached and no forms will be processed if they are sent within 4 weeks of the course starting.
2. Approved Centres to email the pre course resource to each candidate on the course, (master document to be sent to each Approved Centre by Community Coach Education).
3. Coachwise to despatch to Approved Centre relevant workshops resources on date required.
4. Approved Centre to run workshop in accordance with ECB guidelines.
5. Approved Centre to complete Candidate registration forms and return to ECB Community Coach Education after the workshop has finished.
6. On receipt of candidate registration forms ECB Community Coach Education to despatch relevant certificates to Approved Centre to distribute.

Teachers UKCC1:
1. Approved Centre to complete and return 4.2 registration form to 1st 4 Sport Qualifications. Course code reference to be confirmed.
2. Approved centre forwards to each candidate, electronically, pre course tasks.
3. 1st 4 Sport to despatch relevant candidate resources.
4. Approved Centre to complete 4.3/4.4 form and run course in accordance with ECB guidelines.
5. Approved centre to complete relevant information on 4.3/4.4 with course outcomes and return back to 1st 4 Sport Qualifications once candidates have successfully completed a First Aid and Safeguarding & Protecting Children course.
6. 1st 4 Sport Qualifications to check for CRB clearance and issue certificates according back to Approved Centre for distribution.

ECB Cricket Young Leaders Award
Aim:
• Raise cricket profile within a Young Leadership role
• Inspire Young Leaders to get actively involved with cricket
• Help provide additional support for KWIK cricket tournaments
• To help develop generic leaderships skills in a cricket context
• Identify potential pathways for Young Leaders in cricket
Target audience
• Age 14 - 18 years
This may include:
• Students at specialist sports colleges and secondary schools to enable them to work with younger age group students
• Young people assisting with local cricket activities as a volunteer
Course structure
• 6 hours - this may be delivered as 1 x6, 2x3, 3x2 hours sessions
• Can be run as an independent bolt on to Sports Leaders UK Award in Community Sports Leadership and Sports Leaders UK Award in Junior Sports Leadership

Safeguarding and Protecting Children Workshop  

This three-hour workshop is aimed at coaches and volunteers. Focusing on good practice needed to protect the child and coach, it covers the different types of child abuse and how to handle situations that may arise. SPC is an integral part of all coaching qualifications. The price of this course is included in Level 1 fees, but is £20 to all other attendees.

First Aid

A valid First Aid certificate is required for all coaching qualifications. Candidates should make their own arrangements for these courses and book directly with the provider. A full list of dates can be obtained from LRCB (0116 244 2198).
