National Cricket Day 2009

Dedication to the development of cricket

Chance to Shine’s  “National cricket day” saw over 100 year 5 and 6 children from 6 local schools attend a kwik cricket tournament at Narborough and Littlethorpe CC.

Greystoke, The Pastures, Croft, Huncote, Redhill and Danemill schools took part entering 10 teams in the inaugural competition at the Leicester Road ground on a beautiful summer’s day. The players were supported by a large number of classmates and parents. The tournament which comprised a “round robin” of matches in two groups of 5 teams. The standard of play was impressive with the top two teams from each group contesting the final and the second placed teams contesting a 3rd place play off.
